Welcome to CCDT
Callander Community Development Trust (Scottish Charity SC034462) is a charitable organisation of volunteers, set up in 2003. Through its membership, it undertakes practical projects for the benefit of Callander community.
These projects have been identified in the 2003 and 2008 Community Action Plans after consultation with the people of Callander by household questionnaires and public meetings about what is wanted to improve our town and the quality of life for us, the residents, as well as for visitors. Many items on the wish list are not provided by statutory bodies or national organisations and therefore a local action group must take the initiative to develop what is feasible with voluntary effort. Hence the Development Trust which works voluntarily for the benefit of the community.
Membership of the Trust is open to everyone in the community by paying an annual subscription of £5. No funding comes to the Trust from local or national rates or taxes. Before each project can be taken on, considerable time is spent applying for funds from grant-giving sources.
The Trust is managed by a Board of eight directors elected at the Annual General Meeting from the membership, and seven directors representing a cross-section of local interests: young people, churches, heritage, environment, businesses, community council and schools.

Draft Local Plan
Like many others in Callander, CCDT has significant reservations about certain aspects of the National Park's Draft Local Plan. We have submitted comments to the Park Authority, and you can read them here:
In our response we also raise a number of issues that the Draft Plan didn't address, such as transport provision for the new hospital at Larbert.
St Kessog's Appeal
Friends of St Kessog's is a new initiative from CCDT to raise funds to go towards the purchase of St Kessog's and the building's redevelopment as a cultural and events centre for the community of Callander
We need to raise at least £70,000 so that we can apply to grant bodies for matched funding. Find out how you can help here:
