ScottsLand 2010 Amateur Photo Competition

Take a Trip to the Park, Take a Walk, Take a Photo, Share Your Memories

The Callander Community Development Trust would like to invite all amateur photographers to visit the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park with cameras in hand. Enjoy your time here and share your beautiful memories by submitting your photos to our ScottsLand 2010 competition.

Winning photos will be judged by members of the Community Development Trust and National Park employees from the park offices in Callander. These photos will then be displayed during the Callander Film Society’s Trossachs Film Week on the weekend of September 10-11. Awards will be given during a reception with refreshments, entertainment, and prizes on the afternoon of Saturday, 11 September 2010. Winning photos will be mounted to form a permanent exhibition and may, with the permission of the photographer, be used in future promotional materials for the National Park.

Competition Guidelines:

Photographers will be judged in three age categories:

  • children (P4-7 ages 8-11)
  • young adult (high school ages 12-18)
  • adult

    • Photos will be judged in four categories:
  • Local Landscape – The Big Picture
  • Local Landscape – The Smallest Detail
  • Local Wildlife – Plants, Animals and Insects
  • Local Life – People, Places and Humour

  • Children and young adult photos should be submitted on A-4 paper in a poly-pocket with a CD containing a JPEG format of the image and a completed application. Please label each with your name.

  • Adult photos should be submitted on photo-quality stock, approximately 10 x12, with a CD containing JPEG image and a completed application. Please label each with your name.

  • Each photo must be submitted separately with a completed application (limit of three entries per person) which may be picked up at any VisitScotland Information Centre or National Park Visitor Centre or may be downloaded from the following website:

  • Photos must be mailed or delivered by hand to the ScottsLand 2010 Amateur Photo Competition, c/o National Park Office, 52-54 Main Street, Callander FK17 8BD

    • Deadline for submission is 31 July 2010
