Who we are
CCDT is a Scottish registered charity (and company limited by guarantee) that undertakes practical projects for the benefit of the Callander community.
Our organisational chart shows our umbrella, including:
our Associated Organisations, chosen because of their similar aims of bringing benefit to the Callander community, each of whom are entitled to appoint one of their members to the CCDT Board of Directors,
our Affiliated Groups, which are local unconstituted groups for whom CCDT provide a banking facility for their fundraising and/or insurance support,
our Premises,
our trading subsidiary, Callander Community Hydro Limited who operate the Callander Community Hydro Scheme and provide the Community Hydro Fund, administered by CCDT,
and our members.
The Trust (originally called Callander 2000 & Beyond) is a membership group, set up by Callander Community Council and others to raise funds and take forward projects to benefit Callander.
We have been responsible for projects such as setting up Creative in Callander and the annual events Summerfest and Winterfest.
Membership is open to anyone living in the Callander Community Council area and is free of charge.
CCDT is governed by a Board of Directors/Trustees, consisting of individual Member Directors who are elected by our Members, as well as Associated Directors nominated by our Associated Organisations. All carry the full fiduciary responsibilities and voting rights of company directors. The Board meet once a month, apart from December, to review progress and discuss new initiatives. Our minutes are usually published a month in arrears.
